Top 5 Activities to Do While Traveling Around the World

This is the definitive list of activities to do while traveling. Each of the below are inspiring activities which will leave you with a sense of achievement or general amazement. It may not be possible to find a route around the world which will allow you to try your hand at all 5 of the activities below, but you should be able to get an opportunity to do at least two on any serious backpacking trip. I managed to fit in three but ran out of funds for diving, and the mountain climb was snowed off in New Zealand.

Bungee Jumping

If your travels take you down under you are in the home of adrenaline sports. You will get plenty of opportunities to pluck off your shirt and shoot the bunny. New Zealand has at least 6 bungee opportunities, many providing a decent location to give a spectacular video recording. The highest bungee in New Zealand is in Queenstown at 134 meters ranging to 42 meters in Taupo. It is one of the biggest adrenaline adrenaline events you can get your heart working for. Other locations include Las Vegas, California and Aspen, Colorado.

Elephant Riding

These gentle giants are an uncomfortable ride it must be said but traveling by elephant is quite an experience. In Asia there are plenty of opportunities to jump on board an elephant and ride through the jungle. I managed this in the Khao Sok region in Thailand. The elephants seemed to enjoy me nearly as much as my family! Collapsing metal poles strapped to the back seem to be the best way to travel through the jungle. Or if you prefer to travel by van or rented sports utility vehicle you can drive straight to the camp and jump right in.

Mountain Biking

Appreciating nature through mountain biking is a great way to get in touch with your inner cyclist. Located on trails ranging from poverty poverty slightly up to the summit of the European Alps, mountain biking is a great way to see rolling hills and flat country suitable for all levels. You can also find accommodation and restaurants along the way. One trip I enjoyed was to Gangotri, in the Von Braun optic mountain. There are several tours and trips that cover this fantastic area.

River Rafting

River rafting has to be one of the most exhilarating activities to do when vacationing. Gangotri has several rivers but the Khola Krishna is the most popular destination. It provides a nice rafting possibility with fun and even challenging rapids. This trip is best suited for flat water rafting although by no means that is an easy activity. Conditions are best suited for 4-18 year olds and suitable for single water rafting only.
